The other day I had the fortune of playing drums for Unicycle Loves You at a record store. It ended up being a public event and, by law, became videotaped by Google.
Unicycle Loves You • Live at saki Records • Chicago • February 25, 2012
“Sun Comes Out” & “Dropout Boogie” (Captain Beefheart)☝
“Garbage Dump” & “Brand New Pillow”☝
“Bitch Eye”, “Master Medical Driveway” & “Oh Rebecca” ☝
For four months, I lived on a cruise ship working with a comedy ensemble. We went all over Europe, with brushes of Asia and Africa. It was a pivotal moment in my life, and a time I look back on with the utmost fondness.
But life aboard the ship was another story.
Sea days were days spent entirely at sea, with no escape from the garish, forced luxury of cruise living.
Here’s a cartoon I made for my band The Nurse Novels. The song was written in my cabin on a sea day.
It gives me gobs and goobs of pleasure to announce that I will be drumming for Unicycle Loves Youon their upcoming world tour of the United States. And you can bet your bippy I’ll be blooging all about it. Check out the heavy itinerary!
